The Trojan War:
In the city of Troy, a mortal and a god were married. Dischordia was not invited. She found out and sent a golden apple that was "To the Fairest." Every women wanted the apple. The deciding man was Paris. The women tried to bribe him. The God of love promises him any bride. He wants Helen, who is already wed. Paris takes Helen to Troy. Helen's previous husband assembled an army to retaliate against Troy.
The Greeks sent the Trojans a "gift" horse and set it outside of the city walls. The Trojans thought of it as a blessing and brought it inside. At night Greeks snuck out of the horse, opened the gates and the Greek army invaded the city, slaughtering the Trojans.
In the seventh year of the war Homer wrote the poem the Iliad.
